We are committed to stewarding this small piece of land that sits on the unceded territory of the Patwin/Winton peoples. Beyond just the ethical treatment of our animals, we also believe in caring for each of their individual needs over the course of their lifetime.
We adhere to organic and regenerative farming practices that respect the land and we continue to develop symbiotic relationships between our animals, crops, and soil that maximize the interconnections of each living thing on the farm while prioritizing the health and safety of those who enjoy the fruits of our labor.

POULTRY

CAPRINE
Every one of our hens has a name, is seen as a unique individual, and is observed daily to ensure that she is happy and healthy. Our hens spend their days on irrigated pasture and the their nights in secure enclosures. We are in the process of organic certification and we adhere to organic practices. We supplement our hens' pasture diet with organic, non-medicated feed and add vitamins, probiotics, apple cider vinegar, and oregano oil to the water.
Our goats are kept together as a herd, except during breeding season, and rotated between two irrigated pastures with shelters. We do not breed our does until two years of age. Kids are kept with the mother and are not bottle fed, however they are socialized. The herd is vaccinated for Clostridium C&D plus Tetnus, and tested for CL, CAE and Johne's annually.

PRODUCE
We use organic and regenerative farming practices and symbiotic relationships between all of the living organisms of our farm. Our chickens have free access to the market garden prior to the planting season, which helps with soil health and pest control. Our goats, pigs, and hens eat much of the unusable vegetables, and when the summer garden is finished, our goats eat down the large foliage. In the fall, our pigs turn the soil which replaces the need to till, and we plant a cover crop. Our pigs also eat unused eggs and goat milk. We have found that with proper management and timing, the health and wellbeing of the people, animals and plants that make up this micro eco system all benefit from one another.
